Computer Use At The Point of Medical Care
When I started a solo practice in Internal Medicine a year ago, I made the decision to have a fully implemented EMR and Practice Management System. I utilize a tablet PC linked wirelessly to an on-location server, and I had found the following measures to be very helpful in enhancing my efficiency during a typical work day.
Have A Central Documents Location
After firing up the tablet PC and starting the EMR program, I also open the internet browser. I have created folders on the server containing documents pertinent to patient encounters. This makes it easy to access these documents without having to leave the exam room.
For instance, I have a folder for my most commonly used Patient Education materials. There is another folder for the Vaccine Information Sony-Ericsson S302 Sheets, and another for screening forms for various Grundig Vision 3 26-3820 conditions.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Here’s a true story of some very bad luck, which ultimately became a positive memory…
Los Angeles, Tuesday, June 28, 1994 - I arrive at my girlfriend Erin’s house bright and early. We’ve only been dating for 3 months, and we’re about to begin our first vacation together — 3 fun-filled days in VITEK VT1828 Las Vegas. We toss our bags into the Chevy Nova, and we’re on the road Тостер by 7:15am.
As we begin the 300-mile drive, Erin tells me about a LG KE970 Shine dream she had the previous night… a vision of our car breaking down in the middle of the desert with the two of us stranded on the side of the road waiting for help to arrive. Hmmmm… Let’s hope it’s just a dream because we’re in the middle of an intense heat wave.
8:36am - About 80 miles into our journey, I see something in the road ahead. It looks like a small branch. No time to swerve. Thump… our car runs over it, and I see whatever it was shattering to splinters in the rear view mirror. No harm… on with the drive. Just a few minutes later though, one of our rear tires blows out. I quickly pull over to the side of the road and inspect the damage. The tire is completely destroyed, with pieces of rubber strewn along the highway behind us like a trail of breadcrumbs.
Just as I’m tightening on the spare, a highway patrolman pulls up to see if we need help. He kindly directs us to a nearby Walmart where we can get a new tire. We thank him for his help, and we’re back on the road with a brand new tire at 9:50am. I tell Erin, “Well, it looks like your dream came true after all, but at least it only delayed us about an hour.”
“That’s weird,” she said. “In my dream we broke down in the middle of the desert, but here there are grass and trees. Oh well. On to Vegas.”
We make a quick stop in Barstow for breakfast. Then at 12:30pm, about an hour from Vegas, our car suddenly jolts, and we hear the sound of grinding metal. Even though we’re going downhill at the moment, the car is quickly slowing down. I pull over and manage to coast right up next to a call box. Fortunately we’re still in California because there are no call boxes past the Nevada state line, and neither of us own a cell phone at this time.
We gaze around the Martian landscape… not

Drug Addiction - Drugs Don’t Love You Anymore
When we think of drug addiction, we simply think of somebody who’s gotten accustomed to taking an addictive substance and can’t stop. But what causes this addiction, what is the force behind it. Pass Me A Cigarette Dad! Part 3 of 5
One of my favorite Emerson quotes is simple: What you do speaks so loudly that I can not hear what you say.
When my kids were young, I was full of words — and a lot of action SAMSUNG VCC6240V3B too. The actions just didn’t match my words.
(You can read about that experience and how I changed it in Bad Dad: 10 Keys to Regaining Trust at http://www.Bad-Dad.com/baddad_dp.htm.)
Have you ever heard a father or mother say to the child, “Please don’t take up smoking. It’s such a nasty habit and so bad for you.”
Of course, hang around parents, you’ll hear that. How many times have those words fought for breath as the parent puffs on a Marlboro? Too, too many times.
A 2-year old learns the word “Why?” They ask it until they go to college. “Why can’t I pull the cat’s tail?” “Why Nokia E61i can’t I hit the ball?” “Why does that girl keep hanging around?” “Why can’t I have the car?”
“Why is it okay for you to smoke when I can’t!”
As parents, we often fall into the

Have Yourself A Very Merry (Stress-Free) Christmas
How will you remember Christmas?
Will it be a time of wonderment, filled with love and memories to last a lifetime; or will those hectic (only 12 shopping days till Christmas) fill you with anxiety and stress? My plan is simple, keep it as stress free as possible, and saturate your days with the wonderment of the season. How? It’s easy.
Take a moment and relax, right now, just for a moment, let your mind drift back to the carefree days of childhood. It’s Christmas morning and your eyes pop open filled with expectation. You race down the stairs; your heart and mind open to the possibilities of the day. Presents, parents, food, friends, you’re brimming with joy. You tear open that first present, a smile breaks across your Samsung VCC-4335V3W face; you’re surrounded by your family (possibly brothers and sisters) and love permeates. It’s a beautiful memory and while the years may have flown by, and most of us now have jobs, our own Увлажнитель children, and responsibilities, we can still greet the day and the season with expectation, not anxiety and stress.
The key is to let the spirit of Christmas rule, and not the complications Delhi homes that arise from planning the perfect meal or wading through the crowds to find THE perfect gift for that (hard to please) friend, in-law, or significant other. In Nokia 6555 a word, simplify.
Stop, look and listen.
Stop
